FAMILY WEEKEND AT THE NICHOLSON RIVER SEPT 2010

Postby mrsfisho » Tue Jul 06, 2010 5:21 pm

Once again we are holding the Family Weekend to the Nicolson River for some Bream fishing in the second week of the September school holidays DATE: Friday 24/09/10 to however long you want to stay. This is an annual event as a family weekend and all are welcome. Weekends like this take a lot of planning. The reason for early planning is numbers become important and accommodation is scarce as most members who went last year have booked ahead. The itinary would be something like arrive Friday late bbq at the caravan park , fish Saturday till whenever, evening dinner at the Nicko Bistro , presentations after dinner for prizes. Fish Sunday, come in 1pm for BBQ lunch early enough for those heading for home around 2-3pm. Sunday night dinner at the Swan Reach Pub. Then those staying could use the next few days as just great fun with other members. I have done this sort of trip for around 15 years or more. When run right makes for a great weekend/week and a great chance for the ladies who would not generally fish to get to know the other female memebers. At this stage I think the caravan park is nearly full, but you would need to call to make sure. There is plenty of camping site powered and unpowered from $20 per night per site. More cabins may become available closer to the date but not a guarantee. You can also get rooms at the Retreat hotel which is next to the caravan park and cheap accommodation at the General store (old but clean and no cooking) see phones numbers below. Like the last couple of years showbags will be given to the kids attending. Ladies will have a free raffle.
UPDATED 03/09/10
PRIZES :party3: There will be a prize for the biggest fish open to all, a fishing charter with Anything Estuary Charters for 2 out of Port Welshpool with thanks to Ryan. There will be also a lucky draw prize for a weekend accomadation at the Nicholson River Caravan Park with thanks to Wendy. Ladies & kids biggest fish 1st 2nd 3rd.
If you are coming please let me know the age of your kids so I can arrange age approperate showbags to be given.
If you want any further info please contact me via pm or give me a ring. This is really the best weekend so come along and enjoy!
Currently there is still a 2BRM Delux unit (1 qs bed and 4 bunks) left and a Cabin with no ensuite.
Pls let me know if you take this up.
